About

We are a collection of happy-go-lucky ladies who work – or want to work – in media.

Our panel discussions give our members an insight into different sections of the media, and issues that affect all women across all disciplines, whether it’s radio, TV, journalism, PR or publishing.   Better still, our monthly sessions mean members can chat to other women who are in the same position, and get tips and build contacts in an informal and no-pressure environment.

We want to tackle the barriers that women face, through helping them have access to experts, and letting them ask the questions it’s sometimes difficult to get answered – whether it’s about getting a foot in the door, how to build your skills, or how to start a family without hindering your career. We’re not cut-throat networkers but if we get to make some friends in the industry then it will quickly become a far smaller world.

Our membership ranges from students up to those in their early 30s who are still in the first few years of their careers. Sessions are free because we don’t believe in preventing anyone who could benefit from the group from coming along.

If you have any questions or ideas for panel discussions, we’re only an email away at workinginmedia@gmail.com

All our events are organised and run by volunteers. We’re always keen to hear from people who want to help out (it’s not too much work, we promise). So if you want to meet some interesting people and get involved in running some fun events, please drop us an email.
